Premiere Performances’ first concert film to celebrate the long-awaited return of live music! Despite a three week hotel quarantine, Berlin-based pianist Chiyan Wong returned to his hometown in March 2021 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, and gave a heart-felt recital to live audience. For the first time in almost six months, classical music lovers gathered in a concert hall again for the inspiration of a live music performance. As the centrepiece of his stunning programme, the award-winning pianist shared his unique interpretation of Busoni’s kaleidoscopic arrangement of Bach’s classic Goldberg Variations. As reviewed by Stand News, Wong’s recital was a reminder of why “we need to attend a concert and listen to music played by a human of flesh and blood”.
