Selected by Classic FM as one of their “30 brilliant musicians under 30” in 2022, Brazilian guitarist Plínio Fernandes is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after rising stars in the classical music scene.
The young guitarist was signed by record label Decca Gold, releasing his début album ‘Saudade’ in July 2022, which features a range of Brazilian composers. Brimming with youthful excitement and enchanting lyricism, the album reveals an artist full of heart and wide-ranging expression. Also included on the album is a duet with British cello superstar Sheku Kanneh-Mason.
In his upcoming Hong Kong début, Plínio will perform a mixed programme of old and new. In addition to his signature Brazilian repertoire, he will also showcase his classical virtuosity with works by English Renaissance composer John Dowland and Spanish Romantic composer Fernando Sor.
